I have heard some rumors lately that the successor to the Nintendo DS series is well on its way and that some developers already have prototypes and dev kits. Some rumors also say that this new console will be launched this year.
Game Developers Conference 2010 is in full swing in San Francisco and Raymond Padilla from rpad.tv has interviewed developers who are in possession of the machine. They reveal a few details about it:
- Two screens, just like the DS, but they are larger and have higher resolution.
- A motion sensor as previously mentioned.
- You can compare it with a GameCube.
In addition, the developers said that they will have the first games completed by year's end. Nintendo DS still holds first place in the market and Nintendo can of course delay the release if they want. It is said however that the console can be revealed at this year's E3 trade show.
Remember now that this information does not come from Nintendo themselves, so it is quite possible that the whole thing is just a big lie and a conspiracy to create discussion, but it is most likely true.
